The BRC Packaging standard, developed by the British Retail Consortium (BRC) with the support of the Institute of Packaging and associations representing packaging manufacturers, aims at ensuring quality standards and hygiene safety of packaging materials for foodstuffs, but also of those materials used as primary packaging in sectors other than food, such as consumer products, and as secondary and tertiary packaging for all uses.
